While researching Lizzie’s youngest brother, John Joseph Nestor, we stumbled upon yet another cigar connection.
- In John Nestor and Theresa Rogers’ 1905 marriage records, Theresa’s occupation is listed as “tobacco stripper.”
- In the 1910 United States Federal Census, Theresa’s sister, Mary Rogers, is listed as a “Fore-lady” at a cigar factory.
The information opens up some interesting possibilities. Perhaps both Theresa and Mary worked with Lizzie at the M.C.A. Cigar Factory? And if so, could Lizzie have introduced her brother to her coworkers?
The cigar connection continues.
